Damn these companies! They are gonna be the catalyst for my bankruptcy with their Orange Graphic 120 models.
:D
They may get in trouble with some of those skins. A little too real life.

"Yeaaaah maaaan, it has flangers, ring modulators choruses, all the great precious (myyyy preeeeciousss) zoom effects, GREAT noise gate, tuner (omg), a coffee machine and when you hit the pedal a chick with big tits comes up and strips for your own pleasure....I'll buy it". After a week or two..."Damn how the hell will I get a good realistic tone to just play a friggin song and not just make my guitar sound like a flying saucer?"

I don't wanna condemn it, but the dude did everything except play with a simple setup to show the "real" tone behind all this!

WOW!!! Now that looks more like it!!! Perhaps it will shake up the other companies a bit - I know I want one!! So how much is this little baby?... and will the software be available on it's own. I'd really like to try this baby out (even without the PreAmp and Footpedal)

From wikipedia on Adam Jones' amps: "These amps are a 1976 Marshall Super Bass amp and a Diezel VH4 "blueface" amp, the blue faceplate models were made from 94-97, and have less presence and a darker tone than the current Silverface that are being made. The Marshall is his oldest amp, and was most likely used on all the Tool recordings, all the way back to Opiate EP."

The Super Bass is in there too, Kickass!

$199: http://www.zzounds.com/item--ZOMZFXS2T

and will the software be available on it's own.

Probably not. The audio interface is most likely used as a dongle.

Well guyz...

I cracked under the pressure and ordered up my Zoom ZFX yesterday. Will let you know my thoughts on it in a couple of days, after it arrives. For those of you in the UK, the price is £179.99 for the Stack and £229.99 for the Floor Controller plus £7.99 Postage. I went for the Controller version. Here's a link to the seller:-

http://www.imuso.co.uk/ProductDetail.as ... de=EG02378

I figure - if I only buy one bit of Guitar Tech this year, might as well make it a GOOD ONE!!
(plus - it'll probably never appear online......)

I'll upload some samples of the various Amps & Effects later; but remember, I'm a Bassist, NOT a Guitarist!! So be gentle....

Is it shipping already? I was told it wouldn't ship before may/june...

Hey CWIG...

Just admit, you've got me a bit worried now Man.... The site stated the delivery would be 3-7 working days (so it's probably coming from overseas), but I have not found any other UK sites who are selling it. Hopefully "Imuso.co.uk" are the premier UK distributor of Zoom effects.... I will keep you all informed...

PS - You'll probably hear the yells of delight if it arrives in the next few days (EVEN from where you are!!!!!)

PPS - Just found out from the distributors - it will be shipping Mid May.

interesting to see zoom jump on the amp-modeling-software bandwagon. i expect they'll do a damn good job of it. however, i'm surprised that it seems that zfx will not be available for mac.. that's a shame

obviously.. i'm just presuming some might like to use it in OS X with garageband or whatever without having to install/run windows on their macs. most other companies seem to think mac OS X-compatibility is worthwhile; so do i.

Not yet I'm afraid... Seems the first batch should be arriving this weekend so I'm not expecting anything until at least Monday. I let you know as soon as it does arrive though, and I've made a First Evaluation... At least we've got Amplitube Metal to play with until then!!!

Hey Guyz...

Just thought I'd give you a heads-up on what's going on with the Zoom ZFX... Surprise, Surprise!!! The delivery date has been put back again (looks like we might have another Amplitube Metal on our hands!!). The delivery was supposed to be last Friday, but I was informed that the current delivery date is now UNKNOWN!!! Roughly translated that means "We don't know the FUCK when it's being delivered - or even if it's actually READY for delivery", so I've cancelled my order and gone for the Line 6 Toneport UX1 option instead. The Zoom ZFX will probably be greatly reduced in price in a couple of months anyway, and I'll reconsider buying it then. Besides, Line 6 are doing a cracking (half-price) deal on the Model Pack add-ons at the moment, and I've reached the point where I NEED a new Musical "TOY" to kickstart my Creative Juices (again!!) Best of luck to anyone else desperately waiting for their Zoom ZFX - it sounds like you are going to need it!!!!!!

Yeah, it's funny how amplitube metal turned out to be the only one you can get your hands on
ZFX: Missing.
Revalver MKII: You can't buy it yet.
Overloud TH1: Q2 they say.
Softube metal amp room: Let's pray.
Line 6's new gen tech: As probable as zakk wylde dancing in a pink dress.
So I think it's a good choice.
But, I'd probably have gone for this guy. http://www.zzounds.com/item--LINGBGOLD
Just 50 more, and you get a all the line 6 models. If you don't need them all you get the silver edition and it's 99 USD.
You know, you'll be paying the same for the UX1 and the model packs or The gearbox gold edition. And I assume you'd like to use gearbox as a VST...
Is it too late?

Cheers

To be honest MAURO, besides being PISSED OFF waiting for an item I paid £238 for (several weeks ago) that now seems to be on an Unknown Delivery Date, the Toneport option is only £50, available immediately (definitely a PLUS!!) and ALL the Gold Gearbox Bundle Amps & FX are NOW Downloadable for just $165 (about £85) which gives you • 72 guitar amp models, 24 guitar cab models w/ 4 mic options each • 28 bass amp models, 22 bass cab models w/ 4 mic options each • 90 plus stompbox & studio effects • 6 mic preamp models. All I can say is... that Zoom ZFX had better be exceptional to justify the waiting time and the lack of Amps, Cabs & FX compared to the Line 6 option... (and TWICE the price!!!!)

PS - It works out CHEAPER this way when purchasing in the UK - trust me.... some places are selling the Gold Gearbox Bundle for over £400!!!!!!
