Jeffhanneman: Have you doubled guitar track, or is it just one take? Try to play twice, pan one 100% left other 100% right. And there is no bass guitar either, is there even any sort of mastering? I think sound is not that bad.

How about you ampsim-ninjas give us some of your effect chains with soundsample, so we can try if there is something else wrong on our setup. I never get as good sound, as someone else, even if I have exactly same fx-chain. I always lack balls on my sound :(

I have to concur, LeGion absolutely destroys everything. It can get such a lovely, sort of brittle texture, yet it is smooth and fat as hell. What amazes me most though is the tightness. Even when cranked you don't have lots of gain trying to interfere and push through between notes.
Not only do I think it would be hard to top this, I'm not sure I'll look too hard for anything else. Lots of respect for your work and effort, I hope this can pave a way so that you can somehow earn money from programming, besides kind donations from amazed users that is. You certainly deserve it!

LePou's plugins are all VST, and Garageband can't open VST plugins. There was an adapter of some sort you could buy from FXpansion, but the links I'm finding are dead, so it might not be around anymore.

Isn't garageband MAC only??
I remember PC VST is not the same thing compared to MAC VST.
And I guess the Fxpansion Adapter works for MAC VST only?!

yeah - the Mac "wrapper" app only wraps SOME Mac VST's to AU format (doesn't work on some) - No way to use WIndows VST's in OS X - theres a project working on it but it's still not working right - probably never will - we can't read DLL's in OS X. That's why I broke doen and bought a Windows 7 laptop - so I could play with all the Windows goodies - it was worth $500 to me as the FREE amps, Cabs, effects, etc are all worth playing with - I'm having a Ball - actually am installing Pro Tools right now - just bought a FastTrack "Recording Solution" from Best Buy for $99 and it comes with Pro Tools 8.03 Essentials. I have a great interface but I need a new toy and always wanted to test out Pro Tools too - still installing on my laptop right now... NEW TOY! Yeah Baby. :cyclops:

Hey LePou, just wanted to chime in and repeat that LeGion is a fantastic amp sim, and it has found a permanent place in my arsenal.
Here's a song I wrote and recorded, using LeGion on the right and RP's RevolutionZ on the left.
Cheers, and thanks again for your continued awesome work!
Song!

First of all, very nice amp - this one and all the others as well.
I made quick medium gain tests for fun, just a single guitar using HyBrit - on the left and LeGion on the right channel.

The guitar alone:

And in a quick mix:
http://shup.com/Shup/316385/hybrit-legion-mix.mp3

Regarding the modular approach and "head set" - would it be beneficial to include a way to tie all stomp boxes together as a pedalboard.

It would be very good to have an overview of the stomps and amp you're using in any particular preset as well as quickly switching in between them.
Maybe with a realistic interface with cables and flooring :) or maybe just a collection of abstract cells with the option to draw connections between them and switch the order and placement in relation to the amp (before input, in the FX loop).

I'm thinking of live use here and also for recording it can be inspirational to have the setup neatly responding to MIDI controllers of ones choosing.

Perhaps this kind of software already exists, if so I'd like to know too ;)
Have poked around in LiveProfessor, but I'd like it to be a VST plug-in itself to use it in a DAW.

Thanks again LePou

Have you tried Plogue's Bidule? It does that (being a VST itself).

i find this a good noise gate its free:

http://www.gvst.co.uk/ggate.htm

I prefer this gate it makes more sense and works just as well in my opinion as green gate

This one is called G-Gate (its not green gate!)

This guy also has another free plugin called G-Clip this plugin gives loudness and is very easy to use just make sure your snare (which will more than likely be the loudest thing in the mix needs to come down in volume or peak so that it doesnt peak your mix too much, then set the clip knob so that the graph shows the top and bottom line holding all of your wave then you can up the gain a touch and get more loudness. don't go too much otherwise it will start to brak up and distort. I actually quite often use this at the end of each track and then one on the master bus as well. although to start with just try on the master channel. If you can't keep your snare down in peaks, then simply wack and izotope ozone on the master bus and try some settings and when you see in gclip the wave is now clumped together more without the snare peaking above the rest of the mix, once it's all nicely clumped together then set the top and bottom line in gclip to hold all of the information in the graph by steadily increasing the clip knob to adjust the lines to fit with the information never going outside (listen to the whole song and watch the graph for any unwanted movement outside of your lines this should never happen, once done then you are safe to go louder by stealiy increasing the first knob 2db-5db usually but of course thats down to a lot of factors. If you want any more info strangedogs give me a pm.

Does it have a VST GUI overview as in a pedalboard/rack?
Sort of like here:

Well, yes and no. Every item can be opened with its own GUI, so yes. But it's not as live-oriented as Live Professor. On the other hand, it is much more flexible and has endless routing possibilities, just drag multiple connection lines from one to the other vst item without fiddling with matrixes. This way you can build any configuration in a few seconds. And you can automate via midi.
You can even load a complete rig as a VST into Live Professor if you like.
You can download and give it a try (as stand-alone) at http://www.plogue.com

here is a sample with the legendary legion :)
the chain is very different now :) i did something like an fx loop!

guitar -> tc electronic konnekt 6 -> tse 808 (0 drive, 0.8 volume, max precision :) ) -> legion (red - lead channel, gain at 9 o'clock, eq flat except a tiny bass boost and presence cut) -> post eq (low pass, high pass) -> m40 reverb -> sperimental engl center 2 cab

the link: http://ul.to/we607r

as always, your recommendations will be helpful.

Hey LePou, did you have metallica like sound in your head with this virtual design? He had!

Check this guy out. The master of puppets cover is Legion. I think it sounds really good. It is not the original. It can fool you, the backing track also helps but put the original to notice minor differences.

Great sound.

By the way it is time for a mark sim...but I guess recreating all those nuances which come from a very complex design (components, the eq interaction being pre gain etc) must be a burden!

Some boutique amp builders say that they can built a clone but pretty much it won't sound or feel spot on like a mark IIC+! Too many things happening in there, too many old components that will remain unsourced...
