Prominy V-Metal

Postby eriklima » Fri Sep 07, 2012 1:17 am

I saw this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgN-bkIVuk0

and noted that it's possible to use MIDI files to play it in Kontakt. The same is possible in Kontakt Player?!? How to configure Reaper and Kontakt properly to play MIDI files?!? I tried some times playing a MIDI (I've also installed Scarbee Pre-Bass) but no sound was heard.

Mmm should just be able to drop the MIDI file onto the track... Are you instead trying to use a keyboard? Be sure to review your midi channels inside Kontakt is a start I guess.

If you're using your computer's keyboard, then make sure you have some virtual way of transmitting the keys you type into MIDI data. Presonus Studio One 3 (and 2) both have the ability to use a computer keyboard as a virtual keyboard.

I do not encourage them to use the computer keyboard to record the drums. When you have no way to determine the exact timing. Resulting in an expected move easily. holiday palace

Yeah... For drums, I prefer to export a MIDI file I have made in "TuxGuitar" or equivalent software like "GuitarPro" and then use it with a VST plugin through a DAW like "Reaper", "Sonar", "Reason", "Cubase", "Pro Tools" and so on.
